The men of Rohit Sharma have a number of difficult competitions ahead of the bow when India starts their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 trip. Team India, next to Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh. Although no team can be interpreted in the competition, retired India spinner Ravichantran Ashwin had to share some observations while rating the four teams of group A of the Champions Trophy.
Ashwin, in a video on his YouTube channel, said he would have given India 90 rating points if Jasprit Bumrah was fit. But only gives 85 because the Pacer tent does not play. Even New -Zeeland received 85 assessment points from Ashwin.
“I'll give them 85. I would give India a 90 if Bumrah had been there because India is completely different with him in the mix. In my opinion, the only care for India is that all their games are in Dubai. Let's say we all throw losing and are first put in the bat because the chalk and cheese is between day and night at this location. So if opponents knock on lights, it can start to fall 85, “Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.
As for the other two teams – Pakistan and Bangladesh are involved – Ashwin only assessed them 55 and 40.
With Bumrah absent, the left-arm Pacer Arshdep Singh is supported to fill the void he has left behind.
Australian Great Ricky Ponting will choose Arshdep Singh above Harshit Rana for India's Champions Trophy Opener against Bangladesh with the side led by Rohit Sharma in the hope of filling the enormous emptiness that has been left behind by a injured pace spear Jasprit Bumrah. Rana has done well in the opportunities he has risen for the ICC event, but Ponting believes that the left arm Pacer Arshdeep is better suited to bowling in all phases of the 50-over game.
“I would go with the left armer and I would go with Arshdeep (to replace Bumrah),” said Ponting on the ICC review.
“We know how good he has been in T20 cricket and when you think about the skills, he probably offers similar skills such as what Bumrah does with new ball and Death Overs and that is what India will miss.
“That doesn't take nothing away from Harshit Rana because I think he has a lot of talent and we know what he can do with the new ball, but I don't think his death skills are just as good as what Arshdep Singh's are.”
The former Australian captain feels the presence of a left -wing fast fast bowler in playing eleven is always “crucial”.
