After taking the white-ball series against the West Indies, Team India is all set to take on Zimbabwe for a three-game ODI series. Before the first game, which will be played at Harare Sports Club on August 18, the team, led by KL Rahul, went to the ground for their first practice session. Photos shared by the BCCI on Twitter showed players like Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad on the ground.
Deepak Chahar has made his comeback on the wing after missing most of the series this year due to injury. Previously, Shikhar Dhawan was chosen to lead, but once KL Rahul was deemed fit, the righthanded batter became captain with Shikhar as his deputy.

A back-fit KL Rahul will lead India in the ODI series against Zimbabwe, while Shikhar Dhawan has been named his deputy. Previously, in the first 15-man squad announced by the BCCI on July 30, Rahul’s name was not present and Dhawan was to lead the team. Last week, however, the BCCI said in a statement that Rahul has been allowed to play. The three ODIs will be played at the Harare Sports Club on August 18, 20 and 22.
It’s worth noting that Laxman will coach India on the tour as the Zimbabwe series ends on August 22, providing a shorter turnaround time as the Asia Cup kicks off in the United Arab Emirates shortly after on August 27. Team India will face their arch-rival Pakistan in their opening match on August 28.
