Indian star batsman Virat Kohli had a memorable run in 2022. The former skipper of India, who was going through a lean spell, ended his 1020-day old drought by beating his first T20I ton against Afghanistan in the 2022 Asia Cup He also ended his ODI century drought, with asparkling knock in the third ODI against Bangladesh earlier this month. Since then, Kohli has not looked back and finished the year as the tenth highest points scorer of 2022 with a total of 1348 points. As the year came to a close on Saturday, the right-handed hitter happily celebrated the day to welcome 2023.
Kohli took to Instagram and posted some pictures with his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and wrote “2023” with a heart.
Apart from Kohli, legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to wish fans a very happy new year as he shared a video of him repeatedly tapping the ball with his bat.
“Knock knock… who’s there? It’s 2023! #HappyNewYear,” Tendulkar tweeted.

Meanwhile, in India, New Year celebrations started in full swing to welcome the year 2023.
From Delhi to Mumbai and from Chennai to Kolkata, the mood on December 31 was like a merry-go-round.
In Delhi, people gathered in large numbers at the India Gate to celebrate the New Year. Special parties were organized in pubs and clubs in different parts of the national capital.
Excitement had run out in Mumbai, the ‘city of dreams’ where people were swaying to the exciting musical extravaganza in the pubs. Huge crowds flocked to Marine Drive in Mumbai to celebrate New Year.
