The first five matches of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 have fueled the latest update of the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings. Australian skipper Meg Lanning has moved up two places in the final women’s standings for ODI batters. She is now just one and 15 rating points away from the top spot currently held by her teammate Alyssa Healy. Lanning was in superb form in the opening match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup against England, beating 86 in 110 balls, seven fours and a six, giving Australia a huge total of 310. They eventually won the match in the last over by 12 runs.
The match-out player, Rachael Haynes, who scored a brilliant 130 out of 131, moved up six places and broke into the top 10 to take the number 7 spot in the rankings. The other centurion of the match, England’s Nat Sciver, rose five places to number 6.
On the other hand, Mithali Raj has dropped to fourth place. Hayley Matthews of the West Indies made significant gains across the board in the batters, bowlers and all-rounder rankings. She was the Player of the Match in the West Indies’ three-run raid against New Zealand – she scored a brilliant 119 to score a 260 goal for the White Ferns and then accounted for the wickets of the in form Amelia Kerr and Brooke Halliday.

Additionally, Indian pair of Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar – who added 122 for India’s seventh wicket to lift them from 114-6 against Pakistan – both rose to their best career positions with the bat.
