Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange platform, announced on Friday a series of educational initiatives aimed at raising awareness about blockchain technology and digital assets among Indian investors, especially the student community. Through its three major educational initiatives, Binance hopes to provide investors with open access to blockchain and crypto learning.
As a follow-up to the Binance Campus BUIDLers program launched in October 2021, the platform has partnered with the Inter-Institutional Inclusive Innovation Center (i4c) to initiate the ‘Blockchain for Good’ Ideathon. The partnership will provide a platform for students studying at various colleges across the country to come up with solutions that would make the blockchain space more inclusive and accessible to all.
As part of the initiative, most recently, Binance partnered with IIT Delhi and organized several crypto trading and NFT (Non-fungible Token) art competitions during the three-day cultural festival ‘Rendezvous’ held from April 24 to April 26. Binance, through this partnership, is spreading awareness about the various uses of blockchain such as NFT tickets, NFT certificates, fantokens, and POAP (Proof Of Attendance Protocol), among others.
Binance also announced that it will host a free and public webinar titled “Crypto for All” on May 1, at 6:00 PM, where attendees will learn the basic concepts about Blockchain and crypto. The session will see the presence of major financial influencers including Neha Nagar, Kashif Raza and Aditya Saini. People who attend the seminar will be given a certificate of attendance issued by Binance NFT via blockchain. In addition, Binance will also host various competitions in the webinar.
The winners of the contest will receive giveaways in Bitcoins and Binance Coin.
“With Binance’s vast sources of academic content and our learning and earning program, we hope to create the right incentives for users to do more thorough research and make more informed investment decisions,” said Leon Foong, head of APAC (Asia-Pacific) at Binance , in a press release.
Leon highlighted the Learn and Earn program, which gives participants the opportunity to earn cryptocurrency while learning about key topics related to the blockchain industry. Participants receive crypto rewards in exchange for completing tasks such as watching video clips, reading articles, and taking quizzes.
“India has one of the largest populations in the world with a median age of 28. This is a huge opportunity for us to play our part in educating India’s future innovators and builders,” said Leon.
