Cryptocurrency Price Today: The global cryptocurrency market on Tuesday, August 2, took a bigger blow as it struggled to extend the gains made in July. Trading volumes remained subdued for the day, up 5.51 percent in the past 24 hours, as investors reeled from business amid an apparent economic slowdown around the world. Cryptocurrency market capitalization fell 3.06 percent in the past day to $1.05 trillion at the time of writing this article, as major cryptocurrencies — including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Shiba Inu, Dogecoin, and Polkadot — were seen during the same time frame. .
Bitcoin has fallen back to the $22,000 level after hitting the $25,000 mark towards the end of last month, closing in the red for three consecutive days until Monday. Today’s Bitcoin price was $22,834.62 at the time of writing, down 1.98 percent in the past 24 hours, data from CoinMarketCap shows.
“After breaking above the $24K level, Bitcoin has fallen marginally for three consecutive days and closed in the red. Meanwhile, data indicates that long-term investors have amassed about $64 billion worth of Bitcoin in the past 12 months. The 4-hour trend for BTC continues within an ascending channel pattern. The next major resistance level for BTC is expected at $32,300. The daily RSI has maintained a strong position above the 50 level,” a spokesperson for the WazirX trading desk said on Tuesday.
Ethereum has also fallen as low as the USD 1,500 level after rallying back-to-back past the USD 1,700 level during July. On Tuesday, Ethereum has lost nearly 7 percent since opening. Ether price stood at $1,581.80 today, down 6.29 percent in the past 24 hours.
“Ethereum fell more than 3 percent yesterday and eventually slipped below the $1,600 level. Trading volumes have been lukewarm in recent days with sellers dominating the markets. The weekly trend for Ethereum has formed a bearish channel pattern with a recent recovery from its support levels. The next major resistance for Ethereum is expected at the $2,400 level. The daily RSI remains above the 50 level,” the WazirX spokesman for the trading desk said on the day.
