Cryptocurrency Price Today: The global crypto market on Saturday, June 18, continued to plummet further as major cryptocurrencies failed to recover and investors refused to invest more. The crypto market cap has now fallen below $900 billion and stood at $853.11 billion at the time of writing this article, according to data from CoinMarketCap. This was a drop of 5.41 percent in the past day. Investors are still in the extreme fear zone and we have entered bear markets as the US Federal Reserve hiked rates sharply by 75 basis points.
“Total crypto market cap fell below $900 billion, which is a marginal decline from last day. Total crypto market volume declined by more than 14 percent to $64 billion, clearly demonstrating the bearish sentiments in the market,” said Tarusha Mittal, COO and co-founder of Unifarm, a group betting platform. At the time of writing this article, crypto market volume fell to $59.01 billion in the past 24 hours, a 22.90 percent dip, according to CoinMarketCap data.
Mittal also said sellers will take a break if Bitcoin hits the $20,000 support level. However, Bitcoin fell below $20,000 on the day and missed the support level. Today’s Bitcoin price stood at $19,292.81 at the time of writing this article, down 8.61 percent in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, Ether price was down 9.65 percent today to $1,004.94 at the time of writing this article.
“Looking at the weekly performance of the two largest crypto assets, Bitcoin and Ether are down nearly 35 percent and 40 percent, respectively. The investors are moving from riskier crypto assets and parking their money in stable coins like USDT. Tether has been trading at a premium rate in the P2P market since the beginning of this month, a sign of strong demand. Altcoins such as Solana and XRP rose nearly 3 percent as a result of the general mini-crypto rally in the altcoin space. Markets are expected to remain shaky in the coming weeks as central banks around the world continue to take strict measures to tame inflation,” Mittal said.
