Dana Cowin, who was editor-in-chief of Food & Wine magazine for 21 years and left in 2016, is back in the editorial game with a new zine called Speaking Broadly. The project, which shares its name with its podcast, was dormant for two years due to the pandemic, but has now come back to life. Defined by bright, bold pages designed by Meagan Bennett, it depicts women in food. The first issue features essays called “Meals With Meaning,” a graphic orange wine tour for a “Tastebud Training Course,” a guide to restaurants in Mexico City by local residents, some personal essays, recipes, product reviews, and more. Mrs. Cowin published it herself. It can be ordered online.
