After two years of being hit hard by the pandemic, New York City’s restaurant workers are eager to continue welcoming new customers. Mayor Eric Adams has urged residents to get out of their apartments and experience the city. But what – and where – do people who like to eat out in New York now, after so much time mainly eat at home? And how can they understand the current state of restaurants?
On April 8, Times subscribers can find out in a virtual event hosted by Nikita Richardson, a Times Food editor and the writer behind the new subscriber newsletter, Where to Eat.
Ms. Richardson will interview Daniel Baker, aka Desus Nice, a Bronx native who is a comedian and co-host of the late-night show “Desus and Mero”. Mr. Baker, who has… praised the roasted leek focaccia at the popular Brooklyn restaurant Lilia and has strong opinions on how to find a great chopped cheese, will discuss his favorite restaurants and where he eats now in New York City.
Ms. Richardson will also speak with Priya Krishna, a Times Food staff reporter who recently covered a Brooklyn bodega known for its extravagant sandwiches. They’ll discuss restaurants and dishes they currently crave and how dining out in New York has changed, as well as answer subscriber questions and talk about subscribers’ favorite restaurants.
