For a long time Market Bull Tom Lee is considering two new themes for his long -stands Granny Shots US Large Cap ETF.
On CNBC's “ETF Edge” this week he revealed that sovereign security could be cut quickly.
“It is now clear to me that the mechanisms are moving for companies to really repair their supply chains within a sovereign border, and that is a change,” said the company's Chief Investment Officer. “That is not just one or two years old.”
He also looks at Gen Z. Lee compares the generation with Millennials, which he called 'the motor' of the market when Fundstrat first started investigating themes seven years ago.
“That means we have to concentrate on Gen Z and then Gen Alpha, so we may have to evolve our demographic theme to orientate on the younger cohorts,” he said. “It may not be for a few years, but I share our thinking process.”
Lee's Granny Shots ETF was inspired by NBA legend Rick Barry's uncomfortable free throw style.
'If you buy the best stocks in every theme, you hang your hat on a single idea. So we said: 'Let's be like Rick Barry. Let's do a correct basketball throw of physics, find out, “said Lee. “It doesn't look great, but it makes 90% of the shots.”
According to Lee, the ETF strategy begins with seven themes that Fondsstrat predicts in the next 10 years – from millennials to energy security. To be considered a grandmother, a stock must fit in at least two of the themes.
'We don't buy junky shares. We want to ensure that they generate income and high Roic [return on invested capital]”Lee said.” We are again in balance every quarter. “
Until now, the Oma Shots ETF, which was launched on November 7, scores investors. In May, Fondstrat reported that the ETF crossed the $ 1 billion in assets under management dressing rooms. From last week Lee said the fund grew to $ 1.3 billion.
Since the launch, ETF has risen by 13% from the end of Thursday. The fund has been beating the S&P 500 this year so far. Since 1 January it has risen almost 15%, while the index has risen by around 7%.
From July 3, Fundstrat reports that his top three holdings are Robinity” Oracle And AMD.
Independent ETF expert Dave NADIG said that he recently noted that ETFs are getting a grip with active management styles.
“Tom is a lot of it,” said Naddig in the same interview. “I think having an active management overlay, both about the choice of stock and the thematic part, can be very logical for investors. It is certainly easier for investors to understand.”
