The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released the academic calendar for 2023-24. The academic calendar is currently available on AICTE’s official website at aicte-india.org.
According to the new timetable, all admissions to the first-year technical bachelor’s programs must be completed by September 15 at the latest. The deadline for lateral entry into second-year programs for all newly admitted candidates is set for September 15. first-year students of the technical program must have started no later than 15 September.
For Institutes of Technology (which does not apply to stand-alone PGDM or PGCM institutions), the deadline for granting approval or denial by AICTE is June 10. While the last day for getting approval from AICTE after appeal is June 30th. The last date for granting affiliation by the university is July 31. Also, the deadline for canceling places for technical courses with a full refund of tuition fees is September 11.
For institutions with open and distance learning (ODL) and online programs, the deadline for grant approval is as per the University Grants Commission (UGC) policy. Also, the last date for admission to online/ODL programs will be in accordance with the policy of the committee.

2. Deadline to grant approval after appeal: 30 June
3. Final date for granting affiliation by university/board: 31 July
4. Deadline for cancellation of technical course seats with full refund: 11 September
5. Deadline on which first-year students can be admitted against vacancies: September 15
6. Last date for the start of classes for first-year students of technical courses: September 15
7. Deadline for Side Entrance Admission to Second Year Courses for Newly Admitted Students: 15 September
– For standalone PGDM / PGCM settings
1. Latest date of granting or denying approval by AICTE to standalone PGDM/PGCM institutions: June 10
2. Deadline to grant approval after appeal: 30 June
3. Deadline for cancellation of admission for courses in PCDM / PGCM
4. Institutions including full refund of fees: September 11
5. Deadline for admission to courses in PGDM/PGCM Institutions: September 15
– Institutions with ODL / online program(s) / course(s) (according to UGC policy)
1. Deadline for granting approval to institutions offering ODL/online course(s).
2. Deadline for admission to courses in open and distance according to UGC policy learning / online learning mode (first session)
3. Deadline for admission to courses in open and distance learning / online learning mode (second session).
