As Covid-19 cases continue to rise and restrictions continue to be imposed in all states, the demand to postpone board exams for this year has also continued to rise, in various parts of the country. In making these demands, several sororities have also spoken out on various social media platforms.
By posting with the hashtag CancleBoardExam 2022, several twitter users have urged the government to act quickly “in favor” of the students.
One user tweeted:
Do you think it’s fair enough to take exams? Do you think it’s fair enough to put so much pressure on kids who barely need to experience offline lectures? Do you know how hard it is to sit for 3 hours after not being able to practice offline exams for 2 years? Think mental health!— Muskan (@MuskanS83283552) January 11, 2022

With the number of Covid-19 cases increasing every day, most state and central boards are also having a hard time passing board exams. Last year, due to the second wave of Covid-19, most boards had to cancel their exams. With the third wave of COVID-19, most central and state governments are again planning to hold exams with utmost precaution for dozens of lakhs of students across India. This year, some boards are again mulling over postponing class 10, 12 exams this year, others will review and make a decision soon. Here is the latest status of board exams 2022:
West Bengal: Several WBBSE and WBCHSE board members have been infected with Covid-19, which has affected Madhyamik and Uccha Madhyamik’s exam preparations. Officials have stated that if the number of Covid-19 cases increases, it will be very difficult for boards to pass exams. The class 10 exams are scheduled for March while the class 12 exams are in April.
Madhya Pradesh: Due to the increasing cases of Covid-19 in Madhya Pradesh, board exams are likely to be postponed. School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar has said that a review meeting will be held before the exams in February to decide whether the exams should be administered or postponed.
Rajasthan: Rajasthan’s education department has said that the board exams will not be postponed. Under the chairmanship of the Education Minister, Dr. BD Kalla, a meeting of a high-level examination board was held as to whether or not the board examinations should be administered. The exams are scheduled to begin on March 3. More than 20 lakh students will take the exam in a total of 6074 centers.

UP board: The UP board has announced that it will hold exams after the elections. The state elections will be held in February. Students can anticipate the exams starting from March. Also last year, until the SC order, the UPMSP had said that everything is ready to hold exams. There has also been no plan for a postponement this year due to the pandemic. The practical exams are expected to be held in the third week of February for 10 and 12 students.
CBSE and CISCE: The Central Examination Board Secondary Exams (CBSE) has already administered the term I-exams, the results of which are expected to be announced shortly. The board is likely to conduct second term exams in March, but an earlier statement said the second term will only be administered if the Covid-19 situation improves. The final results will be drawn up afterwards, but in the event that period II is not carried out, the final result will be based on period I, internal assessments and practical examinations.
