Several hundred students protested at Ashok Mill Naka Monday afternoon and made their demands. The students argued for not taking the board exams for grades 10 and 12 in person, as they had studied online due to COVID restrictions. Police expelled the students from the protests to prevent them from going to the minister’s residence nearby.
In response to a question, Deputy Police Commissioner (DCP), Zone V, Pranay Ashok said: “The action will be taken by law against anyone responsible for inciting students”.
Another police officer said that ‘Hindustani Bahu’ visited the Dharavi Police Station and asked the police not to stop students from reaching Gaikwad’s residence. When senior police officers asked him to provide a letter of demands and assured him that it would be forwarded to the minister, Bhau left the police station. Hindustani Bhau, a former Bigg Boss contestant, is popular for his videos which are characterized by the unique delivery of slang words mainly targeting Pakistan and other YouTubers from that country.
