IIM Calcutta released the provisional answer key for CAT 2024 on Tuesday afternoon – with the objection window open till December 5. Candidates who have taken the test can now download the key from the official website at iimcat.ac.in.
The institute has also opened the option for candidates to file objections through the official website. This will be possible until 11:55 PM on December 5. According to an official notice, the administration will check and verify the objections and then prepare the final results based on them.
The final results are likely to be published on the CAT website in the second week of January 2025. Candidates can also be informed individually by text message.
Candidates wishing to raise an objection should use the 'Objection Management' link provided on the CAT website. They must use their login ID and password before filing their complaint.
The CAT exam was held across India in three sessions on November 24. Data shared on the website iimcat.ac.in indicates that around 2.93 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of the total 3.29 lakh registered eligible candidates.
Scores will be subject to 'normalization' to ensure fairness and equality for all students. The process will adapt to location and scale differences in score distributions across different shapes, as well as normalization across different sections. The final scores are converted into percentiles for use in shortlisting.
