More than 35 lakh students who have passed the class 10th and class 12th exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) can expect their results by July 15th. CBSE is expected to announce the Class 10 Result Date and Class 12 Result Date in the coming week. These are not only the results of the CBSE period 2 exams, but also the final result. The definitive formula with which the board has also calculated the results will be announced.
Before students can check their results, do they need to know what are the criteria for passing this year? Usually, students who achieve 33 percent are considered to have passed the CBSE board exams, but since there were two exams, would the passing criteria change? According to the information available to date, CBSE will not allow students to pass for each term individually, but will instead consider the overall pass rate.

What does this mean? This means that students do not have to pass each of the terms individually and achieving 33 percent in final results is enough to pass. When announcing the results of term 1, CBSE did not provide the data on how many students were able to pass or failed and students, regardless of their grades, were allowed to participate in semester 2 exams. The board then announced that the pass rate will be calculated on based on the final scores.
But how are the final scores determined? So far, other councils announcing the results of exams held in two-term mode have put 40 percent weight on each written exam and 20 percent weight on internal grading. While it is highly likely that CBSE will also follow a similar route, the final formula along with the results will be known.
