CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 results are yet to be announced, and according to the latest University Grants Commission report, it could take about a month. “The implementation of term-l has already been communicated to the schools. The evaluation of term-ll is underway and the result preparation process is underway. The final result is determined by combining the weight based on the performance of both terms. The whole process takes about a month for the declaration of the result,” UGC said in its latest message.
Earlier, sources in CBSE had said the results could be expected at the end of July. Now students can expect class 12 results by the end of July and class 10 by the first week of August. In 2020, the result was announced on July 30, and in 2021 it was declared the end of class 12 in July and class 10 in August. A similar timeline can be expected this year as well. The delay is caused by the fact that two exams will be held this year and the formula for calculating the final result has not yet been determined. The formula will consist of the results of term 1 and term 2, as well as the internal assessment, however the exact weighting is not yet known.

To complicate matters, CBSE has also announced that it will also declare results for students who missed one of the two semesters due to a valid reason. This means that a separate formula must also be formed for them. Furthermore, students and parents have protested to give more weight to internal assessments and least to term 1 and allege that many schools cheat on semester 1 exams. Students have demanded that final results be based on the ‘best of both terms’ or on the score of any term.
For CBSE students, the confusion doesn’t end here. Many colleges including the prestigious Mumbai University have already started their admission process. The MU has released two merit lists. This means that by the time the CBSE results are out, students will find it difficult to gain admission. CBSE had asked UGC to intervene. In response to CBSE’s request, UGC now said, “It has been discovered that some universities have started enrollment in undergraduate courses for the session (2022-2023). Under this scenario, CBSE’s students will not be able to access admission.” until the undergraduate courses are denied.if the deadline is set by the universities prior to the CBSE result declaration.”
Now it is likely that top colleges would change or put their admission schedules on hold. Not only CBSE, but also CISCE has not announced the results date, but for ICSE and ISC students, the results can be expected within a week.
