More than 38 lakh students are eagerly awaiting the results of their Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 10 and 12 board examinations 2023. The results for classes 10 and 12 are expected to be released soon by CBSE though official confirmation of the result announcement date is still pending. In addition to the CBSE’s official websites, cbse.gov.in and cbseresults.nic.in, DigiLocker also provides access to exam results. Candidates can also use SMS and UMANG app to access their CBSE board results.
Examination board results, when released, would be favorable to the vast majority of students, but a small number of them would also receive less favorable results. Students must achieve a minimum of 33 percent in each subject to pass the Class 10 and Class 12 CBSE exams in 2023. Students who perform poorly in one or more subjects of the CBSE exams will be given the option to retake the test.

Other updates from CBSE include announcing some changes that will take effect at the start of the new academic year. Firstly, from academic year 2023–2024, the compartment and improvement exams will no longer be taken for CBSE board students. Instead, the board will hold additional exams. The name of the subject and improvement exams has been changed per CBSE report to supplementary exams. Despite the name change, the conditions for taking this exam, such as entry requirements and other criteria, have not changed.

For the added convenience of the students, the CBSE board has made an important change to the practical exam policy. Under the old policy, students who failed the practical exam had to retake both the theory and practical exams. Under the new regulation, those who fail the practical exam do not have to retake the theory exam. They only need to pass the practical exam, which is conducted at school level.
