According to the rules, in the event of a large number of coronavirus infections, the exams of the second semester of the board may be postponed or even cancelled. When CBSE announced that it will hold two exams, the board of directors had said in its official announcement that if there is another wave of the covid-19 pandemic, the final result will be calculated based on semester 1 exams and internal assessment. .

If this happens, it wouldn’t be the first time. In 2021, the board was unable to hold exams due to the pandemic. Also in 2020, the exams had to be stopped halfway through the first wave of the covid-19 pandemic. It was after massive disruptions in the exam and grading system that CBSE decided to run not one but two exams for the 2022 batch.
