CTET notification 2022: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to release the notification for the Central Teacher Aptitude Test or CTET 2022. CTET is held twice a year and this will be the CTET attempt in July. While CBSE has not yet announced the exact date for the CTET filing, sources reveal that candidates can expect the CTET filing by May 20.
Once the CTET application form is released, it will be available at ctet.nic.in. The exact exam dates are not yet known. CBSE will release the CTET schedule including exam date, application form dates, result and answer key date etc. after the applications are opened. The December 2021 CTET notification released the notification, but the results were not disclosed until weeks after the scheduled dates. This led to protests from job seekers.
What to expect: So again this year, students can expect the timelines to be provisional.
In CBSE December 2021 paper 1 registered more than 18.92 lakh candidates and 16.62 lakh candidates registered for paper 2. On the examination day 14.95 lakh and 12.78 lakh candidates respectively took the exams. After the results, a whopping 4,45,467 candidates qualified for paper I and 2,20,069 for paper II. Candidates need a minimum of 60 percent to pass the exam.
What to expect: Also this year, candidates can expect competition to remain high as a very limited number of candidates come through almost every year
The CTET score applies to schools run by the central government such as KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, and also to schools run by the UTs of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It may also apply to unassisted private schools that choose to hire CTET qualified applicants.
Now CET certificates are valid for life. This means that once a candidate passes CTET, he is eligible to look for a job based on the score whenever he wants. Previously, the CTET certificates were only valid for seven years.
What to expect: With a large recruitment drive and the Ministry of Education also looking to fill empty vacancies and increase the number of schools to meet gross enrollment targets, students can expect to see large vacancies open.
In 2021, CBSE conducted the first-ever online CTET, but on the first day of the exam, students faced technical difficulties, many could not even complete the exam. TCS iON, who was responsible for administering the exam, said: “On Day 1, unexpected technical issues impacted operations at certain locations, in the first shift. As a result, candidates in the affected locations were unable to take the exam. As a result, we had to cancel the exam of the second shift.”
What to expect: Also this year, despite the disruption, the CTET will likely only take place online. This is also done to familiarize teachers with digital learning models for teaching.
