CUET UG 2023: The exam will be held from 21 to 31 May. Registration takes place on the official website at cuet.samarth.ac.in
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to begin the registration process for the 2023 Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate courses this week. Registration takes place on the official CUET UG website, cuet.samarth.ac.in. The CUET UG 2023, as announced by the University Grants Commission (UGC) last December, will take place from 21 to 31 May.
The exam is conducted in 13 languages including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. It will take place in 1,000 test centers across the country, with 450 to 500 centers used for the study each day.
Applicants who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent exam or appear in 2023 can participate in the CUET 2023. However, the aspirants must meet the age requirements (if any) of the university they wish to enroll in.
The CUET 2023 syllabus will mainly be based on Class 12 subjects. The syllabus for domain specific subjects is published on the NTA website and accordingly the aspirants should prepare for the examination. CUET (UG) 2023 will be held via computer-based test mode. It would consist of multiple choice questions and candidates would get one point for each correct answer.
The CUET UG entrance exam serves as a standard benchmark and provides equal opportunity to all candidates regardless of geographic location. This mainly benefits people from remote areas and with a disadvantaged economic background. By taking this single test, candidates can participate in the admission process for multiple central universities. These include Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University and Aligarh Muslim University.
Meanwhile, DU’s Vice-Chancellor, Yogesh Singh, had previously said that students studying in CBSE have an “inherent advantage” in CUET-based admissions. He said more options regarding the questionnaires provided to students could help state board students. Last year, DU had introduced CUET as an admissions medium to resolve the disparity in student enrollment resulting from differences in how state administrations award grades.
