Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kerjriwal has announced what appears to be the very first virtual school in the country. Called Delhi Model Virtual Schools (DMV) – the initiative of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government aims to help students who cannot attend a physical school. While making the announcement, Delhi CM Kejriwal said: “While I personally believe that every student should go to school, but there are many children who do not have access to education, and this step is to ensure that education is the children’s ultimately achieved. of society.”
The school will offer online classes, including virtual lectures, recorded and live lectures, and skills-based courses, as well as training for competitive exams, including JEE Main, NEET and CUET, Kejriwal informed. In the initial phase, the school will teach students in grades 9 to 12. The school will be affiliated with the newly launched Delhi Board of Secondary Education (DBSE).

The application process for the very first batch has already started. Interested candidates can apply on the official website, www.dmvs.ac.in. Anyone who has studied at least up to class 8 of a registered school and is in the age group of 13 to 18 years old can apply for admission to class 9 in this virtual school.
About the targeted children, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said: “This school is launched with the aim of providing education to children who beg on the road, children from distant villages who do not have a good school, girls from socially disadvantaged backgrounds who are not allowed to access a school outside their neighbourhood. Children who cannot go to school can access education from home in virtual mode.”
The virtual school will have teachers specially trained to teach in virtual modes, Kejriwal said. The virtual school will also have an education platform created in partnership with Google and Schoolnet India, in which live video, recorded video, digital library and access modules will be available.
According to the official website, students can use lessons and learning materials at their own pace, all live lessons are archived for later use, and students can interact in small groups under the supervision of the subject with what they have learned in the classroom. In addition, they receive on-demand one-on-one academic mentoring.
DMVS also allows students to make assessments on concepts rather than a particular course syllabus. This means students can study a concept and opt for online assessments when they feel ready, according to the official website.
