Government schools in Delhi recorded a 16 percent increase in pass rate in the CBSE Class 10 compartment study, an official statement said on Sunday. While the class 10 pass rate rose from 81.27 percent to 97.29 percent, the class 12 pass rate rose from 96.29 percent to 98.21 percent, the government statement said.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the students performed exceptionally despite the impact of the Covid pandemic on education over the past two years. “As a result of COVID-19 over the past two years, there has been a negative impact on students’ education and on their mental and emotional well-being. Despite this, the students performed extremely well in the compartment exams,” he said.
Sisodia said the 2021-22 academic session was disrupted due to COVID-19 and there was a “significant reduction” in learning opportunities for students. “While our students performed very well in the exam this year, some failed one or two subjects and had to reappear in compartment exams. This result will definitely boost their confidence and prompt them to do better in their studies,” he said.
