While some colleges affiliated with the University of Mumbai (MU) will publish the third merit list today, some colleges have said they will postpone the process until CBSE and CISCE 12th exam results are out. This comes after the University Grants Commission (UGC) said CBSE results could take about a month and colleges across India should adjust their admission schedules accordingly. However, some colleges associated with the University of Mumbai have defied the order and released the merit list. MU has previously released two merit lists.
“It has come to our attention that some universities have started enrollment in undergraduate courses for the session (2022-2023). prior to the CBSE statement of results,” UGC had said.

The 12th results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are expected to be announced at the end of July. In 2020, the class 12 result was announced on July 30, and in 2021 at the end of July. A similar timeline is expected this year as well. Meanwhile, CISCE ISC or Class 12 is likely to be released sooner, by July 16. The delay in the formation of results is due to the fact that two-term exams are being held this year. Furthermore, the formula to calculate the final result has not yet been decided as the weight to be given to each term, labs, and internals is yet to be announced.
Students who have applied for the UG courses of Mumbai University – BA, BCom and BSc can check the third merit list on the official website – mu.ac.in as well as on the university websites. Students on the third list have completed the online verification of documents and will pay the online fee between July 14 and July 16.
