DU Admissions: After a two-year hiatus, Delhi University will hold sports and ECA trials this year for candidates seeking admission through the route, officials said Tuesday. However, the applicants will have to take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), they said. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the university has not conducted any admission tests under the Sports and Extracurricular Activities (ECA) quota for the past two years.
“If the Covid situation remains good this year and there is no increase in the number of cases, we will conduct sports and ECA trials. In admitting students, 25 percent weight is given to CUET scores and 75 percent to their performance in the tests,” Yogesh Singh, vice chancellor of Delhi University, told reporters here.
There will be centralized trials by the university, officials said. Registration for the CUET starts from Wednesday. Under existing university guidelines, the colleges are allowed to admit up to five percent of their students under the sports and ECA quota.
