The Delhi High Court has rejected all pending requests regarding workers coerced into the Covid-19 vaccine, stating that the employer cannot insist on it.
A single judge of Justice Pratibha M. Singh faced the plea of a government school teacher seeking permission to teach and take on other responsibilities without being forced to take the vaccine.
The court granted relief to the petitioner, allowing her to lodge a complaint with the relevant benefits authority, and ordered that the decision be taken within 30 days.

Previously, in the Jacob Puliyel v. Union of India & Ors, the Supreme Court had ruled that it is an individual’s right to refuse medical treatment as long as his own health is concerned.
In another order passed by a coordinate bank in Narendar Kumar against the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, according to the Supreme Court ruling, the city government had also filed that no company mandated vaccinations and that all employees were allowed to return to their jobs without the requirement.
Relying on the above orders, the court said: “In view of the above orders relating to similar factual situations, this petition, together with all pending applications, is dismissed with the instruction that vaccination against Covid-19 cannot be imposed on the employer. urged, in terms of the various injunctions given above.”
The teacher’s counsel argued that the statement regarding the benefits was made on June 14, 2022.
In response, the court ruled that the copy must be sent to the authorities within a week with a new cover letter.
The teacher, who teaches history at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, New Usmanpur, Gautam Puri, under the Education Directorate of the Delhi Government, had moved to the court in 2021 and is now vaccinated.
