Recognizing the importance of investing in supporting human capital development, the G20 on Saturday pledged to leverage digital technologies to bridge the digital divide for all students and support educational institutions and teachers in keeping up with emerging trends and technological advances. “We are committed to inclusive, equitable and high-quality education and skills training for all, including those in vulnerable situations. We recognize the importance of investing in supporting human capital development. We recognize the importance of foundational learning (literacy, numeracy and social-emotional skills) as the primary building block for education and employment,” the statement said.
“We reiterate our commitment to leverage digital technologies to bridge the digital divide for all students and to provide support to educational institutions and teachers to enable them to keep pace with emerging trends and technological advances, including AI,” said the report.
The Declaration placed emphasis on expanding access to quality technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
“We reaffirm our commitment to promoting open, equitable and secure scientific collaboration and encouraging the mobility of students, scholars, researchers and scientists within research and higher education institutions,” the report said.
