The gang that cheated people on the pretext of admitting candidates into the Agniveer scheme for Rs 3 lakh and into Railway Group D for Rs 6 lakh was arrested by the STF Agra. Nine members of the gang have been arrested. STF claims that the accused earned crores from the scam. As soon as the recruitment call came out, the gang members roamed from village to village, trapping unemployed people. They used to ask for half the amount before the recruitment and half the amount after the recruitment was done.
CO STF Udaypratap Singh said the team had received information that a gang was active and that unemployed youths are being targeted by the gang. The STF arrested the gang by besieging the Tajganj area. A laptop, 11 mobile phones, 16 Railway Group DE access cards, a car, six two-wheelers, ten ATM cards, four Aadhaar, seven PAN cards and three lakh rupees cash have been recovered from the accused.

Those arrested include Jitendra, resident of Mubarikpur, Iradatnagar, Yusuf, resident of Kidwainagar, Sarai Khwaja, Shahganj, Prabhat Sharma, resident of Tajnagri Phase-2A Block, Santosh, resident of Malpura village, Dharam Singh, resident of the village Naraul, Kagaraul, Anil, resident of Nagla Dhani, Sadabad Hathras, Sultan, resident of Rohta village, Sadar, Sonu, resident of Jaunai, Saiyan and Pawan Chaudhary resident of Khajpur Mathura.
The suspect told during the interrogation that a lot of software was uploaded to Jitendra’s laptop, using which they created encrypted documents and trapped the unemployed in rural areas. In the past, they showed false documents and said that they have talked to the higher authorities and that the victim will get a job. For those youths who were ineligible to participate in Agniveer’s recruitment, the gang also prepared false documents for them.
The suspect told police that they had officers in all the villages. In exchange for bringing the unemployed youths, the gang gave the cop 25,000 rupees. Their agents took to the streets from 4 a.m. to find young people preparing for army recruitment and then fooled them. More than half a dozen victims have contact with STF. Everything has been reported. For its part, the STF has filed a case against the accused for cheating and under sections of the IT law. All victims have witnessed the trial and their complaints have been recorded.
During the interrogation, the suspect mentioned the names of many victims. Even after checking the data on the laptop, many victims were found. STF is in contact with the victims. The accused told the STF that they had even tricked the youths who had passed the exam but had not received the results. The gang told them they would pass with good grades, they could even have the OMR sheet changed if the money goes to the top.
