Starting today (February 5), GATE 2022 will be held on February 6, 12 and 13 in two time slots, 9am to 12pm and 2.30pm to 5.30pm. If you show up before GATE 2022, here are the guidelines you are expected to follow to ensure the exam goes smoothly.
Time to report: Candidates are advised to report to the exam center at least 90 minutes prior to starting time to avoid overcrowding or last minute panic. Candidates must log into their assigned system 30 minutes before the exam time.
Must wear: No candidate may appear at the GATE 2022 without a valid printed entry ticket. The authorization must be printed on an A4 sheet. Candidates must carry the original ID card used for the registration for GATE 2022.
Covid-19 guidelines: Candidates with a body temperature above 99.4 degrees Fahrenheit will be required to take the exam in an isolation room at the exam center. Candidates are expected to follow the order of queues and floor markings when entering the exam center.
Prohibited items: No item other than a mask, glove, sanitizer, pen or pencil, transparent water bottle, exam related documents such as admission and ID card are allowed in the exam hall. All candidates will be provided with a virtual scientific calculator. The use of any personal electronic device (mobile or smartwatch or physical calculator) is prohibited. All necessary COVID-19 guidelines such as wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing must be followed during the exam
In the event of a delay, no extra time will be given to complete the paper. Candidates leaving the exam center should drop the scribble pad in the drop box
