AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Panneerselvam (OPS) has opposed Anna University’s decision to increase the fee for obtaining duplicate certificates and marking sheets.
In a recent statement, on Sunday, the AIADMK leader urged the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, to investigate the matter and disallow Anna University’s decision to increase the fee. The former Chief Minister pointed out that Anna University has increased the double-digit grading fee by 10 times from Rs 300 to Rs 3,000 from May 1.
In the meantime, the fee for obtaining a duplicate certificate has also been increased. The fee for obtaining a duplicate diploma has been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 and to get it a second time, the fee is increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.

OPS said in the statement: “It is well known that most students come from the poor and middle classes and that they continue their higher education with bank loans. It is unacceptable to impose an additional burden on students who are struggling to meet their tuition fees. pay,” IANS reports.
The former Chief Minister said there are media reports that after his intervention, the fee increase at Bharathidasan University was withdrawn.
He said such high rate hikes are probably the main achievements of the one-year-old DMK government and said the AIADMK will relentlessly take up the problems of the common people.
Meanwhile, the result of the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2022 is likely to be released on June 10. Anna University, the exam governing body, will announce the results on the official website at tancet.annauniv.edu. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
