The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has decided to postpone the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET 2022). The exam, previously scheduled for May 11 and 12, has now been postponed to June 27 and 28. DTE has posted a notice on their official website informing candidates about this.
The board has also said that the confirmation of the exam dates will be given 10 days in advance. Candidates are advised to regularly check the DTE website – dte.goa.gov.in – for updates related to the test. “The Goa Common Entrance Test GCET 2022 has been postponed and will be conducted on June 27 and 28, 2022. However, the dates will not be confirmed until 10 days prior to the exam,” the official message reads.

The Goa general admission test is required to gain admission into various institutions in the professional degree programs such as BE, BTech and BPharm. Candidates are allocated seats in the college of their choice based on the candidate’s rank and seat availability. However, admission to BArch will be done through the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).
GCET 2022: Exam Pattern
The common admission test has three different papers: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each paper has a score of 75 points and candidates are given a two-hour time frame to complete each paper. The exam will contain objective questions. The candidate receives one point for each correct answer. However, there will be no negative marking on the paper.

The GCET 2022 syllabus is based on the Class 12 syllabus issued by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. All three papers are required for students applying for BE and BTech courses. Applicants appearing for the BPharm course are not required to appear in the Mathematics paper, but must sit the biology exam as the third subject.
