Government Senior Secondary School – Saloh in Haroli assembly segment of Una district will be developed into Himachal Pradesh’s first smart school, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said on Wednesday.
The school will have smart classrooms, an e-library and other facilities, Agnihotri said at a meeting at the school.
Sports facilities will also be developed to allow the organization of state-level competitions in the near future. The government will restart the Sur-Tarang program to nurture hidden talents and give them a platform, he said.
Agnihotri also promised to restart the Haroli festival.
Development, welfare and service to the poor are the government’s top priorities, Agnihotri said.

Priority will be given to the development of infrastructure and basic services in all educational institutions of the municipality of Haroli. In addition to starting new bus services in different parts of the segment for the convenience of schoolchildren, long-distance interstate routes will also be started from Haroli, he added.
The deputy chief minister said the skills development center built at a cost of Rs 26 crore would also be made functional.
Earlier, while inspecting a new building of Government Degree College – Khad, Agnihotri said that classes there would begin from January 1 and instructed the officials of the Electricity Board and Public Works Department (Electrical Wing) to complete the remaining electrification works to be completed at the earliest.
Agnihotri also addressed a meeting of the Chintpurni Temple Trust at Una’s Ghaluwal. He said world class infrastructure would be developed to facilitate Chinnamastika Dham Chintpurni devotees. Cable cars and escalators will be built and Bharwayi-Chintpurni Road will be improved.
Una deputy commissioner and chairman of the Chintpurni Temple Trust Raghav Sharma informed Agnihotri that 14 projects of the trust were being worked on at a cost of Rs 39 crore.
