The Institute of Hotel Management, Bhubaneshwar, has signed an MoU with the Sattvik Council of India. As a result of this collaboration agreement, the first ‘Sattvik Center of Excellence’ will now be opened at the Institute. Under this, students can take courses in vegetarian tourism and catering management, claims Sattvik auditor & lead auditor, the institute claims.
Speaking about the MOU, Abhishek Biswas, founder of SCI said: “SCI has always had a vision of transforming certification into education and training from the outset. of Excellence with IHM, Bhubaneshwar”.
The student community will benefit from this arrangement as they can now take the courses in specialized vegetarian programs either in hospitality or management through IHM In Bhubaneshwar but also get a good job. There is a continuous effort to improve academic administration and upgrade the curriculum by involving subject specialists from both institutions, the institute states in its press release.
On this occasion, Satyanarayan Mohapatra stated: “This was an important step that was necessary because vegetarians have to step back from the bigger companies in the world, and it is a disadvantage. While I respect all food choices, we can offer courses in vegetarian management or auditor. We are facing a huge unemployment after the pandemic has increased, now the students will be able to earn an indispensable income after the competition of the course. There is still a lot to achieve.”
To this end, an MOU was signed between the two organizations in the presence of Abhishek Biswas (Founder-SCI), Satyanarayan Mohapatra (State Coordinator, Odisha-SCI), Ms Sharada Gosh (Head of IHM, Bhubaneshwar).
In addition, a series of seminars were held on “Sattva” The Ultimate Pure: Applications of Sattvik Certifications, where Biswas was the keynote speaker of the seminar.
