The aim of the program is to stimulate, improve and strengthen entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem in rural India.

NSRCEL – IIM Bangalore’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center launched a rural entrepreneurship incubation program. The aim of the program is to stimulate, improve and strengthen entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem in rural India.
“The pandemic has exposed the vast socio-economic gaps and vulnerabilities in rural India, and there is a need for sustainable and inclusive development. With this program, we are shifting our lens from urban founders to those willing to make visible changes in rural India,” said Anand Sri Ganesh, COO, NSRCEL IIM Bangalore.
Entrepreneurs in this program are a diverse mix, made up of young graduates from leading universities, industry professionals looking to transition into the development sector, and development industry professionals.
The nine rural enterprises that would partner with NSRCEL to create socio-economic impact by generating livelihoods in rural areas are:
Kalapuri/Nirvi Handicrafts, IVillage Social Solutions, Indian Yards, Kulture Street, Ayang Trust, Bastar Se Bazar Tak, Karry Now, Mars Innovation, Sahrudaya Foods.
