The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has invited candidates for the post of Director. Interested candidates can send their applications to the Ministry of Education before November 30. Candidates are expected to provide a detailed CV highlighting their achievements and also stating their plans and vision for the institution. They must provide contact information for at least two key people familiar with their career achievements.

Salary: Rs 2,25,000 per month along with other allowances as per rules.
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must hold a PhD or equivalent degree, preferably in Engineering. In some cases, PhD holders in Mathematics, Natural Sciences or Management may also be considered. Such candidates must have an exceptionally good academic record, with at least ten years’ teaching experience as a professor at a recognized institution. They must have at least five years of experience in administrative work and also have exceptional leadership skills. Candidates must also have supervised PhD students.
Age limit:
The applicant must be under 60 years of age on the last application date. They get the job on the basis of a five-year contract or until they reach the age of 70.
The following information should be written in bold on the envelope containing the application form: ‘APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DIRECTOR, IIT BOMBAY’. The candidate must also submit one copy of the same form electronically.
IIT Bombay is located in Powai, Mumbai, Maharashtra, and was founded in 1958. To get admitted into the prestigious institute, students must qualify JEE (Joint Entrance Examinations), JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) and GATE ( Graduate aptitude in engineering).
