The conference to be held at the IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP) will take place from 31 January to 2 February 2023
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) hosted the first G20 Education Working Group Meeting on ‘The Role of Digital Technologies in Education’ today, 31 January 2023. The Education Working Group, under the Indian Presidency of the G20, has as its main objective to identify areas/themes to promote possible research and academic collaboration between educational institutions in G20 member countries.
The G20 Seminar will be held at IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP) as part of ‘Sherpa Track – 1st Education Working Group Meeting’ from January 31, 2023 to February 2, 2023. In addition, a 50-stall exhibition will also be organized as part of this grand event at IITMRP. These stalls showcase some of the research, innovation and cutting-edge technologies.

The participants in this seminar will include members of the G20 Education Working Group from each G20 member country, host countries and international organizations, as well as representatives from selected academic institutions in G20 member countries engaged in initiatives to promote the use of digital technologies to promote quality learning. to ensure opportunities for all and improve learning outcomes.
In addition to representatives of knowledge partners from India, representatives of international organizations such as UNESCO, UNICEF, the World Bank and OECD also took part.
V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras and President of IITMRP said: “We are going to hold three exciting sessions dedicated to school education, higher education and skills development. We have received input from different countries on the challenges and best practices being followed in these different places. This gives us a unique opportunity for all of us to understand them so that we can work together to come up with effective solutions. We have before us Sustainable Development Goal #4, which is about quality and equitable education for all. We all dream that thanks to these efforts, which have been going on for some time, we will have a world where every child will at least get a degree.”
