The Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) will soon be offering a four-year Integrated Teacher Education or Bachelor of Education (BEd) courses on their campuses. The announcement was made on Saturday by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan who inaugurated a new Kendriya Vidyalaya at IIT Bhubaneswar campus.
On that occasion, the minister said that the four-year integrated teacher education program would be introduced in IITs and that training for teachers would be provided in accordance with the New Education Policy (NEP).

Union Minister tweeted: “This year a 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Program or ITP pilot model will be launched to provide teachers with appropriate training under the national education policy. This will improve the efficiency of the teachers and the full development of the students. increase.”
During the event, the minister also said that 15,000 PM Shri schools will be established in the country while more than 500-600 PM Shri schools will be established in Odisha. The minister also said PM Shri schools will be established in every block of the country while more than 500 PM Shri schools will be established in Odisha. These schools will operate under the direct leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to the media, the union’s education minister wrote: “PM Shri School Yojana, the PM-led government has decided to open model schools in every and every block of the country. In this process, #Odisha will have more than 500 such schools.”
The new KV campus inaugurated by the minister yesterday will train students from grades 1 to 12. It is slated to be completed in the span of two years at a value of Rs 25 crore.
Recently, the education minister said that higher education institutions should focus on exponential growth toward building a future-proof workforce and use technology to further decolonize education.
