The Indian Army has applied for the Short Service Commission course at the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Department. A requirement of a total of nine candidates – six men and three women, has been announced in the official notice released. Registration for this started on January 19 at joinindianarmy.nic.in and will run until February 17 at 3:00 PM.
According to the official notice, the total duration of service will be 14 years in total, with the initial period being 10 years, which can be extended to four years. The total period also includes a probationary period of six months. Before the term of office begins, the selected candidates will undergo a six-month training period at the Officer’s Training Academy in Chennai.

Indian Army Recruitment 2022: Suitability
Educational Qualification: Applicant must have an LLB degree with a minimum overall grade of 55 percent. In addition, the degree must be professional, amounting to three years if taken after graduation, or five years if taken after class 12 and from a college/university recognized by the Bar Association of India. In addition, candidates must be eligible for registration with the Bar Association of India or as a barrister.
Age Limit: Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 27 by July 1, 2022. In other words, the applicant must not have been born before July 2, 1995 and after July 1, 2001.

Indian Army Recruitment 2022: Selection Process
Candidates will be notified via email if they are shortlisted by the Ministry of Defense. The shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo a Service Selection Board (SSB) test at the selection centers assigned by the Indian Army. There are a total of two selection phases. These are followed by five days before the SSB interview. After the interview, the candidates undergo a medical examination as the final stage.
Indian Army Recruitment 2022: Salary
Those selected for the positions of Lieutenant will be given salary between Rs 56,100 – 1,77,500, Captain will be given between Rs 61,300 – 1,93,900, Major will be given salary between Rs 69,400 – 2,07,200 while Lieutenant Colonel will be between Rs 1, 21,200 – 2.12.400. Those selected for the posts of Colonel will be awarded between Rs 1,30,600 – 2,15,900, Brigadier will be awarded between Rs 1,39,600 – 2,17,600 and Brigadier will be awarded between Rs 1,44,200 – 2,18,200.
