In a notice issued Friday, the Indian Navy has invited applications from eligible unmarried men and women for Short Service Commission (SSC) award in Information Technology (Executive Branch) under the special naval orientation course. Online registration for the SSC course is open until August 15. The recruitment campaign is held for as many as 50 posts.
The course will commence from January 2023 at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates must also meet the nationality requirements set by the Government of India. The shortlisted candidates will join the SSC executive in the rank of sub-lieutenant. Initially, the employment will be ten years and the first two years will be a probationary period for the SSC (IT) officer. The period of service can be extended to four years.

Indian Navy Recruitment 2022: Eligibility Criteria
Eligible candidates for the upcoming SSC course in Information Technology must have been born between January 2, 1998 and July 1, 2003. Other qualifications laid down in the notice stated that the interested candidates must have the educational qualification with a minimum of 60 percent general qualification marks, in either or a combination of — MSc, BE, BTech, MTech (Computer Science/Computer Science and Engineering, Computing) or Engineering, IT, Software Systems, Cybersecurity, Systems Administration and Networks, Computing Systems and Networks, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence or MCA with BCA, BSc (Computer Science/IT).

Step 1: Visit the official website — joinindianavy.gov.in
Step 2: Register yourself on the homepage first.
Step 3: Once registered, login from the Candidate Portal and select the SSC Executive (Information Technology) and fill in the details.
Step 4: Upload the required documents and complete the application process.
Indian Navy Recruitment 2022: Selection Process
The notice also informs that the shortlist of applications will be based on normalized marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree. Grades obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree are normalized. For candidates who have completed or are in senior year of BE/BTech, grades achieved up to the fifth semester will be considered for the SSB shortlist. For candidates who have completed MSc/MCA/M Tech, grades achieved in all semesters are eligible to be shortlisted.
Meanwhile, for final year students pursuing MSc/MCA/M Tech, grades obtained up to pre-final year will be taken into account. The Indian Navy notification also mentions that the shortlisted candidates will be notified of their selection for SSB interviews via email or SMS.
