Inspired by Babasaheb Ambedkar, we are emphasizing education through our government, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said while paying tribute to him on the occasion of his Mahaparinirvan Diwas on Tuesday.
“Today, on the occasion of Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Babasaheb Ambedkar, I would like to call upon all people to seek inspiration from the life of Dr. Ambedkar. His life was full of struggle and we can learn a lot from it to become better citizens of this country,” said Kejriwal.
The Chie minister took part in an event held at the Delhi Legislative Assembly to observe Babasaheb’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas. Babasaheb envisioned that through proper education for every citizen, we can alleviate poverty, achieve equality and ensure dignity in society, he said.
“His dream was to ensure that basic services are provided to even the last citizen of the country. In his struggle to improve the lives of others, he placed the greatest importance on education. Taking an example from his books, the Aam Aadmi Party government has transformed the education system in Delhi and we are working to do the same in Punjab,” said Kejriwal.
Providing quality education to every citizen of the country can improve the lives of our citizens, Kejriwal said. He further added that those who come from the marginalized communities will also gain respect through this transformation.
Henceforth, education is extremely important and that is why we are following the steps of Babasaheb Ambedkar to improve the life of every citizen of this country, said the Chief Minister.
Kejriwal was joined on the occasion by Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, Dy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and other leaders.
