The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2022. The technical entry that was supposed to start on April 16 and end on April 21 now starts from April 21. The move has come amid protests from many of the students who claimed the board and technical entrance exams clashed. The CBSE 12th term 2 exams will begin on April 26.
“Representations are being received from the candidates who wish to change the date of session 1 of JEE Main 2022 due to the clash of their exam dates with JEE Main 2022 session 1. In view of the continued demand from the student community and in with their support, the National Testing Agency decided to reschedule the dates of JEE Main 2022 Session 1,” NTA said in an official statement.

Now the JEE Main 2022 Session 1 will be held on April 21, 24, 25, 29 and May 1 and May 4, according to the latest release released by the NTA. Students will be informed in the first week of April in which city they should take their exams and the admission card can be downloaded from the second week of April according to the adjusted schedule.
The application process for JEE Main 2022 is still ongoing. Interested students can register for the technical entrance at jeemain.nta.nic.in until March 31. This year, candidates should be extra careful with the application form as NTA does not provide editing option in the form. This is one of many new introductions in JEE Main 2022.

In another major change, JEE Main 2022 will have a negative mark in both Section A (MCQ type questions) and Section B (numerical value). Previously, when the numerical part was introduced, students were given zero for the long answers, now negative points are given for wrong answer. As in MCQ, students get 4 points for each correct answer and – 1 for everyone.
Meanwhile, JEE Main aspirants will get exam centers closer to home, according to NTA. The choice of exam cities to be shown to the candidates is based on the permanent and correspondence addresses filled during JEE Main 2022 online application form, according to NTA. This is one of the security measures taken after JEE Main 2021 was marred by cheating.
