JEE Main 2023: paper pattern
Like last year, the JEE Main paper pattern is likely to be divided into two sessions. Section A consists of multiple choice questions (MCQs), while section B contains questions whose answers must be entered as a numerical value. Part A is compulsory and four points are awarded for each correct answer, but one point is deducted for each incorrect answer. In Section B, candidates must answer five of the ten questions given. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
Applications for JEE Main reached almost 9.5 lakh per session with many candidates making repeated attempts to increase their scores. A similar number of candidates is expected this year as well. In 2022, a total of 10,26,799 candidates registered for the 2022 JEE Main – including attempts in June and July. Of the total, 9,05,590 students appeared for the exam. A total of 24 candidates had achieved a 100 percentile score and achieved rank 1 in the technical entrance examination. The top 2.5 lakh candidates will be considered for the IIT Entrance Exam – JEE Advanced.
