JEE Main 2025 Session 1: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a crucial notice to some candidates who have registered for the upcoming JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam. According to the NTA, it was found that the photos uploaded by few candidates did not meet the required specifications. The NTA has asked them to re-upload new photos by today i.e. January 17 till 11:50 PM.
JEE Main 2025 Session 1: What was in the NTA notification?
The NTA notice states, “It has been observed that the photograph uploaded by some candidates for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main)-2025 (Session-1) has not been found as per the required specifications. It has been decided to provide an opportunity to such candidates to upload the photograph as per the required specifications to avoid rejection of the application. All such candidates whose photos need to be changed will be informed through a message to the registered email address and an SMS to their mobile number.
“These candidates must log in with their credentials and click on the link to upload a new photo as per the specified schedule.”
JEE Main 2025 Session 1: NTA releases list of specifications for candidate's photo
1. Passport size Photo must be between 10 kb and 300 kb
2. The recent photo must be in color with 80% face (without mask) visible, including ears against a white background.
3. The photo must be named 'Photograph' and in JPG/JPEG format (clearly readable).
4. Glasses are only allowed with regular use.
5. Polaroid and computer generated photos are not acceptable.
6. Applications that do not follow these instructions or contain unclear photos may be rejected.
7. Applications without photographs as per the specification given above will be rejected.
8. The photos do not need to be attested. Candidates are advised to keep 6 to 8 passport size color photographs with white background.
9. Candidates may note that if the uploaded photographs are found to be fabricated i.e. distorted or appear to be made by hand or computer, the candidate's application will be rejected and the same will be considered 'the use of unfair means and the candidate will be treated accordingly.
10. Candidates are advised to take note of the above and act accordingly.
Earlier on January 11, the NTA had released exam city information forms for the JEE Mains exams. The first session will take place from January 22 to 30 and entry tickets will be available for download soon. According to media reports, the admit cards for JEE Main Session 1 are expected to be released on January 19.
