It has always been a dream of millions of Indians over the years to join the armed forces and be able to wear a uniform. One of the most prominent and respected jobs in the country is guaranteed for those who opt for a career in the Armed Forces or Central Armed Police. There is no better option for young people who want to pursue a career full of excitement, adventure and challenges to realize all their professional ambitions. It goes without saying that it also gives you the satisfaction of serving your country.
Like countless other youth in the country, Monica Kumari from Ratdih village under Giridih’s Bengabad block, Jharkhand grew up with a strong attraction to the uniform and the dream of serving in the armed forces. She recently just cleared the Border Security Force (BSF) exam. Her parents Nageshwar Mandal and Anita Devi were barely able to make ends meet and had great difficulty in enrolling at Monica Girls High School, Bengabad. She studied here till her class 10 and then enrolled for class 12 at SS High School, Bengabad.
Her father Nageshwar works as a pastry chef in a hotel and his wife Anita Devi is a housewife. Monica has seen her parents go through hardships and therefore wanted to help her parents run the house as quickly as possible. She wanted to become a sub-inspector (SI) and while she was preparing for it, she came across the BSF form.
The written exam was followed by a physical examination, both of which she passed. Now her name has appeared in the merit list. She told the media that she will continue to prepare for SI as she graduates from Giridih College.
Monica added that she couldn’t afford coaching so she had to rely on YouTube videos for preparation. She also kept herself physically fit by regularly running in the nearby fields.
Monica will now undergo an eleven-month training course for BSF. after which it is placed.
