The Pre-University College (PUC) classes or class 11 and class 12 classes in Karnataka are scheduled to start on June 9. After two years of online classes, the new session will begin in a personal mode. Now the admission process of several colleges has started for the PUC.
Those seeking admission into the PUC should note that the cut-off criteria for these colleges will be 60 percent. Students who have cleared their SSC results can apply for the same. Not only Karnataka but students who have completed their class 10 from other states can also apply for admission into pre-university courses in Karnataka.
Admission into Karnataka-based colleges for classes 11 and 12 or PU first and second years will be on SSC marks. Students receive admission based on cut-off lists prepared by colleges. Shortly after the SSC results, the admission process begins at various colleges that create a cut-off list based on the grades obtained by applicants.
Last year, Seshadripuram PU College had a cut-off of 89 percent for science courses and 86 percent for commerce. At the MES college, the limit was 94 percent for science and 90 percent for business students.
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) released the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) 2022 results last week. The passing percentage was 85. 63 percent. The girls outperformed the boys in the Karnataka SSLC Class 10 result 2022. The pass rate among the girls was 90.29 percent. While that was 81.30 percent for boys. A total of 8,53,436 students took the class 10 exams. Of these, 7:30,881 students passed the exams with flying colors. A minimum of 35 points is required for each subject to pass the exams.
According to BC Nagesh, 22 districts in Karnataka have achieved A grade while 2 districts (Bengaluru South and Yadgir) have achieved B grade. In addition, 145 students scored 625/625. The rural areas of the state have surpassed the achievements of the students of urban areas as a total of 2,92,946 students graduated in urban areas with a pass rate of 86.64 percent while 4,28,385 students passed with a graduation rate of 91.32 percent in the rural areas, as reported by Indian Express.
For those who could not pass the exams in the first time, the board will conduct the additional exam on June 27. This year, a total of 11,8875 students have achieved an A+ grade or more than 90 percent.
Meanwhile, the primary and secondary education minister BC Nagesh announced on Friday that the second PUC exams have been completed and the evaluation will start from next week. The results will be announced in the third week of June.
