Thousands of graduates wore caps and gowns at an American university graduation ceremony, but one quirky-looking “student” caught everyone’s attention.
Fox7 reports that Francesca Bourdier, a college student, has just graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. However, she wasn’t the only one to do this; Suki, her owner’s gorgeous cat, also graduated after taking online courses with her.
Bourdier posted touching images of herself and her dog ready for graduation on social media. “My cat attended every lecture I had, so we will BOTH graduate from the University of Texas at Austin,” she captioned the photo. The University of Texas at Austin had an “honorary doctorate,” according to Fox5.
Several internet users supported Suki’s recent achievement and cute graduation outfit. The university also responded to her message, saying, “Congratulations to both of you.”
“Only here because I saw you two on the news and I myself am a crazy cat lady obsessed with this whole thing,” commented one user on social media. Another person said, “This brightened up my day! Congratulations!” I haven’t seen something so cute and creative in ages. Congratulations to both! third added.
Bourdier revealed in an interview with Fox7 that the Covid-19 pandemic forced her to spend most of her undergraduate years at home. “Most of the time I was in my apartment with my cat by my side. She was constantly just sitting by my laptop when I had my Zoom lecture, almost as if she wanted to listen to “She spoke.
When the graduation ceremony finally arrived, Bourdier moved on, recognizing Suki’s commitment and considering including her in the ceremony. She told the media source, “She’s (Suki) just kind of my special graduate.”
She also revealed that she could get Suki her own cap and dress that matched almost perfectly by doing a quick web search. She claimed she wanted to formally accept her cat into the University of Texas graduating class in the spring of 2022. Bourdier went on to say that even though Suki didn’t graduate, she was still happy to see her anytime that day.
