In an effort to improve the quality of education in Madhya Pradesh’s schools, the Ministry of State Education recently announced on its official Twitter handle that it will provide the ranking of government schools from grade 1 to grade 8 every month.
According to the announcement, the government will begin providing rankings to schools in all 52 districts based on the quality of education. Schools are ranked according to the number of points they receive for completing tasks and producing quality work.

Another tweet from the education department revealed that the decision to rank schools was taken following the directive of the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The official report claims that the Chief Minister has asked officials to publish the monthly ranking of the schools on the CM dashboard.

Meanwhile, Shivraj Singh Chouhan also announced new scholarships earlier this month to encourage Sanskrti among students. He promised scholarships to students learning Sanskrit. The fair is said to start in July. According to media reports, this decision was taken ahead of the cabinet meeting in Vallabh Bhawan when he addressed his cabinet ministers. Students can apply for the scholarship through an online portal, the reports claimed.
The scholarship is designed to assist students and priests in studying the Sanskrit language. This will also result in filling empty Sanskrit instructor positions. According to the Times Of India report, 1900 vacancies have been filled so far and recruitments have been made for the remaining posts. In addition, until teachers are hired, arrangements will be made for visiting teachers. CM Chouhan made a number of announcements in early May, including the state government’s plan to add a lesson about Bhagwan Parshuram to the school curriculum.
