Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced on Sunday that a medical university to be established in Panjupur village in Yamunanagar district will be named after the ninth Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur. “The medical college, which is being set up on more than 60 acres of land in Panjupur village of Yamunanagar, will be named as Guru Tegh Bahadur Medical College.”
“In the next three months, the foundation stone for that medical university will be laid,” Khattar said at a meeting here to mark the 400th birthday of Guru Tegh Bahadur at the state level. A large stage had been prepared for the celebration of the ninth Sikh guru’s ‘parkash purab’ in the grounds of Sector 13-17, spread over 25 hectares along the national highway.
The venue where the function was hosted is named after Guru Tegh Bahadur, Khattar announced on the occasion. The road of GT road leading to the site is called Guru Tegh Bahadur Marg, the prime minister said.
By the way, the path along which the palanquin containing the holy book of the Sikh Sri Guru Granth Sahib came is also named as Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Marg, the Chief Minister announced. A number of devotees from different parts of the country had come here for the state level event.
During his speech, Khattar said that Guru Tegh Bahadur made a supreme sacrifice while raising his voice against religious atrocities and injustice. “Today we celebrate the 400th Prakash Purab of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji,” Khattar said, adding that the main purpose of organizing such a grand event is to ensure that the stories of the supreme sacrifices made by the Guru brought to all areas of the world. land and “our future generations can draw inspiration from it”. The Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General (retd) Gurmit Singh, former Haryana Prime Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Prem Singh Chandumajra were among those in attendance at the occasion.
