The registration process for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law (MHT CET) begins today according to the State Higher Education Directorate. Candidates who have passed class 12th examinations and those appearing for the board examinations this year can apply for the MHT CET five-year LLB program.
The last date to apply for the MH CET Law 2023 application is March 11. Interested and eligible candidates may register and submit the 5-year LLB application form at cetcell.mahacet.org. The entrance exam for the 5-year LLB program will take place on 2 April this year.
No date has yet been given by the exam conducting authority for the release of admission tickets, but it is expected that the admission tickets will be released almost a week before the start of the exam. The state level entry is conducted for admission into 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programs offered by nearly 140 colleges in Maharashtra.
MHT CET 5 Year LLB Application: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates from the open category must not only have passed the exams of class 12 or participated in this year’s exams, but also obtain at least 45 percent of the marks. For Vimukta Jati Nomadic Tribes (VJNT) Special Backward Class (SBC) Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates, the minimum grade required is 42 per cent. Further, SC and ST candidates must have scored at least 40 per cent in their class 12 examinations.
MHT CET 5 Year LLB Application: Documents Required
Before completing the form, please make sure you have a valid email address and phone number along with the following documents:
— Either an Aadhaar card or Voter ID card
— Grade card of the qualifying exam.
— Passport photo and a signature
MHT CET 5 Year LLB Application Fee
As for the registration fee for this state level entrance exam, candidates from open category are required to pay Rs 800 and candidates from Schedule Cast and Schedule Tribe categories are required to pay Rs 400 as registration fee.
Maharashtra’s common admission test law is conducted in English and Marathi once a year. The method of application, research and guidance is done online. With nearly 10,000 seats for a five-year LLB program, the exam duration remains two hours for the test.
