National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), will develop a sustainable model to promote entrepreneurship in rural areas by initiating the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Program (SVEP) . It aims to support entrepreneurs in rural areas in setting up village-level enterprises in non-agricultural sectors.
The partnership will help the rural community by helping them set up their professions and providing full support until they are established. It provides knowledge, advice and financial support to the public to create a village-level community framework.

Rural entrepreneurs will have access to banking systems to receive financial support for starting their business, including support from the MUDRA bank. Integrated ICT techniques and tools will also be provided for training and capacity building, as well as business advisory services to create an entrepreneurship ecosystem in the villages of India.
SVEP is a sub-part of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) of the Ministry of Rural Development. NIESBUD has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) to take the initiative.
Commenting on the partnership, Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, said that rural entrepreneurship can play an important role in the overall economic development of India by providing employment to people living in rural or remote areas. live.

He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously said Indians should dream of becoming job creators for job seekers. “In this regard, SVEP will help create an innovative ecosystem, accelerating economic and social benefits at the community level,” said Aggarwal.
He went on to say that the scheme also aims to build an inclusive society by providing equal opportunities for all, along with the required financial support. He said the initiative will help educate the rural community and provide them with the necessary resources for entrepreneurship to increase their income and pave the way for building Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
