The National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) has recommended a 5% relaxation in the eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to other backward classes (OBC) who fall within the non-creamy tier categories in the 2018 recruiting campaign to fill 68,500 assistant positions. teachers in primary schools under the UP Basic Education Board.
Lokesh Kumar Prajapati, vice president of the NCBC, who made the recommendation to education department officials on March 3, said existing irregularities and inconsistencies in the recruitment process should be addressed.
The candidates submitted evidence to the committee that the number of seats for the recruitment of OBC and candidates with other disabilities has been kept equal to the category without qualification for the recruitment and that they also did not receive a 5% relaxation in the eligibility/success rates.
As for the unqualified category, OBC candidates and candidates with other disabilities were required to obtain a minimum of 67 points (45 percent) to pass the 150-point exam. Meanwhile, 60 marks (40 percent) were retained for SC-ST.
NCBC has stated in its recommendations, according to the Hindustan Times, that under the terms of the 29 July 2011 notice, the candidates for the OBC category should qualify with a 5% easing in the pass rate, which is 60 points (40 points). percent) out of 150.
This falls under the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) aptitude test and other Department of Basic Education recruiting.
These studies included the recruitment of 69,000 teachers in 2019, the recruitment of 1,504 assistant teachers for government-aided secondary schools in 2021, and the recruitment of 62,625 teacher-in-service teachers in 2011.
Copies of the recommendations have been sent to the Additional Chief Secretary, Director General, Director and Board of Elementary Education, as well as to the Secretary of the Examination Regulatory Body, UP.
Ministry of Education officials have said they are unable to comment on the decision, citing the Model Code of Conduct due to the 2022 UP Assembly elections. However, the candidates and complainants have been overwhelmed by this recommendation.
